Gold Medal of Architecture

The Superior Council of the Schools of Architecture of Spain (CSCAE), created the Gold Medal, that is awarded, in life, to people or institutions that have especially distinguished their selves in the promotion of architecture as a cultural asset of the people and have integrated into the fine arts, the development of architecture in the achievement of the socio-economic well-being, the dissemination of architectural facts and the work of architects, the defending and bettering of the image of the architect and the very relevant exercise of the profession of architecture. The Gold Medal of Architecture in the most prestigious award that the Superior Council grants. The first was granted to S.M. King Don Juan Carlos I and, likewise to Aga Khan and architects such as Rafael Moneo, Alvaro Siza, or Josep Lluís Sert, among others.
