In 2003 the remodeling and expansion of the Basel railway station was inaugurated.
The most complex part of the project consisted of replacing the underground steps with a 200-meter walkway that crosses the train tracks. The walkway has become a distinctive sign of the city.
This project was awarded the Heimatschutz in 2001, the Andalucía Architecture Prize in 2008 award and a special mention in the 2006 Daylight Award. View the whole project in this link: http://cort.as/gOD7
